6/15/20

Physical: Strong, thick 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame with high level strength and sneaky athleticism in all phases. Quality day all around; 7.16 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Tall, open stance with the hands resting on the shoulder. The barrel moves slightly upwards with the shoulder turning slightly in for the load coupled with a controlled lift-and-replace stride as the timing mechanism. Easy hand speed and hard contact off the barrel to the pull-side during a loud batting practice round at the PA State Games. Showcased a slightly uphill barrel path through contact generating consistent backspin to the middle of the field. Powerful lower half generates advanced hip shoulder separation allowing for an advanced 98 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.

Defensively: The backstop features a low center of gravity in the setup demonstrating advanced feel for receiving technique with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 1.91-1.93 utilizing strong straight line footwork getting directional towards the second base bag. Quick transfers with fluidity out of a moderate high ¾ arm slot. Demonstrated comfortability while blocking, moving well laterally and showcasing athleticism behind the dish. Was able to locate the baseball quickly and recover with accuracy C- 79 MPH.

2/29/20

Demonstrated a physical 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame with feel for his body and strength in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with a wide, open stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride initiating a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Showcased quality feel for the barrel with a short, repeatable stroke through contact allowing for one of the better batting practice rounds of the day. Made repeatedly hard contact in front of the plate with natural pull side lift while hitting into a stiff front side. Generated advanced hand speed towards contact creating advanced hip-shoulder separation and an impressive 92 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. The primary backstop showed the ability to stick it while receiving with minimal glove hand movement at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.00-2.-06 on accurate throws of 74 mph from the crouch out of a high ¾ arm-slot. Displayed quality straight line footwork with smooth, repeatable transfers yielding consistent throws on the bag. Featured solid blocking technique, beating the ball to the spot with the glove creating soft walls and downward chest angles on both sides of the plate.
