1/16/16 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. A strong hip turn and a short swing create significant barrel whip with a bat exit velocity of 92 mph. Wehler demonstrated a solid feel for the barrel and the ability to drive baseballs gap-to-gap during one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. The junior ran a 7.04 60-yard dash and flashed athletic actions defensively. He displayed plenty of arm strength to remain on the left side of the infield and a projectable frame that should give college coaches options for his eventual defensive position moving forward.
