4/3/17 6-foot, 175-pounder pounded the zone, primarily with FB/CH mix. Has a feel for executing sequencing, effectively elevating and expanding in plus counts. FB sat 83-84 with armside action and he showed an ability to start it on the edge of the plate and run it off. Best pitch is an above average change-up that he throws with conviction and fastball armspeed. Despite throwing a poor one early in one at-bat, he got back-to-back swing-throughs with it on 3-1 and 3-2 counts against the opposing team's right-handed 3-hole hitter. Curveball at 69-73 was a much lesser-used third offering. More first-pitch outs (five) than three-ball counts (four) during his six-plus innings (two hits, four strikeouts, one walk). Fielded position well.

2/12/17 Aggressive, max effort, 6-foot, 175-pounder with a quick arm out of a high three-quarter slot. Delivery includes a hip coil with chest-high leg lift, good leg drive, and some deception created by slight pause over rubber and then throwing his front side at the hitter. Fastball lacked significant plane, but had occasional armside run at 83-85. Showed a very good feel for a change-up at 75-76 with late sink and an ability to drop his 11/5 curveball in for strikes at 71-72.
