7/21/15 5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitter. Started from an open stance and strode to square. Kept path fairly short in BP despite some backside spin that inhibits incorporation of lower half. Stayed gap-to-gap with his in-game approach. Showcased 83-mph exit velocity and 71-mph arm strength from the crouch during workout. Posted 2.07-2.20 workout pop times. Blocked well, quick transfer and release.
6/17/15 Defensively, exhibited solid throwing mechanics with quick feet, exchange, and release, allowing him to record workout pop times of 2.10-2.22, despite below average arm strength. 5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitter who would benefit from adding strength to his frame. Hits from square stance, spins on backside, creating some length in swing and slightly uphill path.
2/16/14 McKinley demonstrated quick feet and a clean transfer with pop times of 2.00-2.09 on throws of 72 mph from the crouch. While he did not possess the arm strength of some catchers in attendance he made up for it with footwork. The 5-foot-8, 160-pound sophomore displayed a line drive approach at the plate with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. McKinley starts from a slightly open stance and displayed the ability to barrel the baseball consistently with no stride from his lower half.
7/30/13 McKinley is a 5-foot-7, 145-pound prospect that showcased pop times of 2.19-2.32 on throws of 66 mph from the crouch. He displayed the ability to barrel most baseballs during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. McKinley utilized a square stance with no stride and a flat bat path to line baseballs to all fields consistently.
12/28/12 McKinley displayed a short line drive stroke that allowed him to consistently square the baseball with a 70 mph bat exit speed. Defensively he displayed pop times of 2.56-2.60 on throws of 70 mph out of the crouch.
1/26/13 McKinley showed well and made improvements in nearly every measureable category since we saw him a month ago. The 5-foot-7, 140-pound freshman showcased a bat exit speed of 71 mph and improved his pop times dramatically at 2.28-2.35 on throws of 68 mph out of the crouch.
