Physical: Lean, well-proportioned 5-foot-11, 175lb frame with additional strength since our last look. 7.39 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, slightly bent stance with the hands starting loose and flat over the shoulder; utilized a barrel-tip on time with a toe tap stride in order to initiate through a flat path into the hitting zone using rotational movements to get extended. Low, calm finish to a shallow position leading to a mostly line drive approach over the course of his batting practice round (67% line drive rate, T83 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman). Top of the order characteristics making for a tough out at the plate with good connection/bat to ball skills.
Defensively: The middle infielder featured smooth, attacking footwork gaining ground and leverage on the ball at the fielding window from a low posture. Wasn’t rushed but maintained consistent pace during defensive evals, moving in rhythm to either side with a quicker high ¾ release (74 mph arm, 2B projection).
Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle of the rubber with a short side rocker towards a balanced stack position getting even, stretched down the slope. Released on time from H ¾ with a slightly fast arm creating minor downward tilt on the FB (low-spin, T20 inches HM via Trackman, 74-76 mph). Added a deceptive 60-62 mph CH with some fade, but should be thrown with slightly more sell to keep hitters between speeds.
6/29/20
Physical: 5-foot-9, 150 pounds; slender, athletic build. 7.37 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even wide stance with bat waggle; short take back and toe tap with no stride; simple efficient mechanics. effortless lower half; stays behind the ball with moderate length swing. Consistent hard contact with pull side approach; peak Trackman exit velocity of 83 MPH. Defensively: Low to the ground; covers ground laterally, good footwork. soft hands, sometimes funnels through mid-section on transfer; low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 71 MPH.
3/01/20
5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and uses a heel-raise stride to begin. Gets on plane early and showed a feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Showcased fundamentally sound defensive actions with easy 69 mph arm strength across the diamond with more in the tank.
