Jacoby has quick feet but utilizes the same long armed throwing motion from behind the plate that he uses in the outfield. With some work to shorten his throwing motion Jacoby will see greatly improved pop times. Jacoby showcased well from two positions, displaying a strong 84 mph arm from the outfield. He hits from a slightly open stance at the plate and uses a flat bat path to routinely barrel the baseball. Jacoby displayed the ability to use all fields and a bat exit velocity of 75 mph.
9/22/13 Jacoby showcased pop times of 2.09-2.17 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. The 6-foot, 150-pound prospect has the makings of a quality catcher with plenty of room to add to his frame. The right-handed hitter displayed a 75 mph bat exit velocity and the ability to barrel the baseball consistently during batting practice. Jacoby went 1-for-3 in game action at Lehigh University.
6/19/13 Jacoby is a 6-foot, 145-pound catcher that has solid fundamentals in all facets of the game. He has an athletic frame and will be a prospect to watch as his body continues to develop. The right-handed hitter showed a balance swing and good extension in squaring the baseball consistently during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 71 mph. Jacoby ran a 7.61 60-yard dash and showcased sound receiving skills behind the plate. He displayed pop times of 2.09-2.15 on throws of 73 mph out of the crouch.
