After three years at Butler Area HS, Patten will spend his senior year at IMG Academy in Florida.
8/25/13 Patten is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect with a lot of potential. He showcased good feet and good carry on throws of 82 mph across the diamond. The right-handed hitter showcased a flat bat path and the ability to use all fields in a solid round of batting practice. Patten went 1-for-3 in game action with a double at Temple University and turned in a solid bat exit velocity of 84 mph.
6/18/13 Patten is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound 3B that is just beginning to grow into his frame. He showcased a much improved 7.37 60-yard dash time and improving footwork in the infield with an 81 mph arm across the diamond. Patten impressed with a very solid round of batting practice and an 84 mph bat exit velocity. Patten showcased the ability to stay behind the baseball and to get to extension regularly in driving the baseball repeatedly to both gaps.
6/12/13 Patten continues to get bigger, stronger and more fluid in all his actions. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect showed improving footwork and soft hands at 3B with throws of 83 mph across the diamond. Patten barreled the baseball consistently with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph during his round of batting practice. He went on to go 1-for-5 in game play. Patten sat 77-78 out of a high 3/4 arm slot during his time on the mound. He also displayed a 63 mph 11/5 breaking curveball and a 68 mph changeup.
8/15/12 Patten had a solid day in most facets of the game. He showcased a solid arm (78 mph) and the ability to play through the ball. His 83 mph bat exit speed velocity was one of the best at the event. He ran the 60-yard dash in 8.00 and consistently squared the ball up during his round of batting practice.
