Physical: Projectable 6-foot-3, 215lb frame with standout physicality and even proportions. 7.24 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Open, upright stance with the barrel resting on the shoulder to start; utilized a controlled leg hang with hip-coil, holding direction towards a wide land at the attack. The hands entered the hitting zone through a flat, whippy path with extra rotational movements in the swing. Put together a solid round with consistent line drives to the pull-side (44% line drive rate via Trackman Baseball) and flashed a 92 mph peak bat-exit velocity/33% hard hit rate. Didn’t swing out of his frame or try to do too much, really did damage on pitches out over the plate he could get extra extended on.
Defensively: The primary first baseman demonstrated solid defensive abilities with quick feet and an active approach through the baseball. Showed a rhythmic, soft glove hand operating low to the ground and used clean exchanges in at the stomach line. Displayed some pace to his round and a short, accurate ¾ slot towards the target (75 mph, low intent).
MD Preseason All State
Strong physical frame at 6-foot-3, 220-pounds. Upright open stance from the right side. Pronounced leg kick to striding on-line. Showed balance in the load and hands made small turn. Level path to the swing with line drive tendencies. Pull-side dominant with strength at contact. Exit velocity was 81 mph. Quiet controlled feet into approach on ground balls. Stays higher at the catch and has a clean exchange. Postures up to throw with short arm action from a low three-quarter slot. Positional velocity was 68 mph. Home-1st time was 4.52.
