A strong athletic build at 6-foot-0, 175 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Enters the hitting zone with a slight armbar. Quick direct path to the hitting zone. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Exit velocity was 87 MPH. Defensively- the infielder displayed active footwork. Moves well laterally and around the bag. Smooth funnel actions and quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot. The top throwing velocity from the infield was 76 MPH.
Campus Series-St. Bonaventure
Open stance in the box, relaxed, strong compact hands, shows consistent control of the barrel, level path, medium length finish with 83 mph exit velo. SS fields taking a direct path to the ball, ball gets deep into his stance, average transfer, throws from a high ¾ slot at 74 mph across the diamond.
Campus Series-St. Bonaventure
Manion stands in at 6-foot-0, 165-pounds with a strong, lean, athletic frame. Ran a 4.63 home to first. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick knee raise in to stride forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing his hips and using the whole-body frame in the process of the swing. Shows quick hands into the hitting zone with a level barrel path throughout into a mid-body two-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage with line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side. Clean, fluid swing with potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 82 MPH. Defensively- Good approach and footwork getting in front of the baseball. Fielding mechanics are smooth with a good funnel into the chest and quick transition to the throwing position. Tends to double tap ball in glove prior to the through. Needs to be more aggressive with the footwork towards intended target to get rid of the ball quicker. Moves well left/right and fields smooth on the run. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 72 MPH.
