1/20/14 Williamson has shown steady progress over the past two years. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound backstop showcased pop times of 2.03-2.10 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. He showed sound receiving and blocking skills and ran a respectable 7.47 60-yard dash in cold conditions. Williamson displayed an 81 mph bat exit velocity and the potential for some gap power. He hits from a slightly open stance with a high hands load. Williamson barreled the baseball routinely and showed the ability to use all fields.
2/23/13 Williamson should be one of the biggest movers in the Class of 2014 rankings after he showed significant improvements behind the plate from last summer. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound junior showcased pop times of 1.97-2.10 on throws of 79 mph out of the crouch. Williamson had a solid round of batting practice squaring most pitches and showing some pop to the pull side. He turned in an impressive 4.13 home-to-first time and displayed an 80 mph bat exit velocity.
8/22/12 Williamson ran a 7.66 60-yard dash and had a bat exit speed velo of 78mph. He showed solid actions behind the plate with pop times of 2.16-2.22 on throws of 76mph out of the crouch. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound right handed hitter had a good round of batting practice. Hitting out of an open stance he consistently hit line drives and squared the baseball regularly.
6/14/12 Williamson showcased a 2.19 pop time on throws from his catcher's position with a top velocity of 74 mph. Offensively he hits out of an open stance with a short stride. His short swing path allowed him to square up pitches frequently.
