6/17/15 Strong, athletic build (6-foot-2, 190-pounds). Overhead rocker and swings lead leg into slight hip coil over rubber. Pitched from a low three-quarter slot with low elbow and slightly crossfire delivery. Located down in zone well with fastball that sat 85-87. Occasionally mixed in an improving curveball with 11/5 action at 73-74.
6/17/15 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitter who is a high-level prospect as a primary pitcher. Started from an open stance and took a big knee-to-knee stride to slightly closed. Slow draw of hands down in load, then quick raise up to launch. Backside spin inhibits post-contact extension and creates some hook to swing. Ample power potential. Showcased 92-mph exit velocity and 83-mph arm strength during workout. Fields ball deep with occasional dead feet, but has loose, easy arm across diamond and good rhythm to release.
4/15/15 Showcased a live fastball touching 88 mph that sat 85-87 early in his five innings of work from a 3/4 arm slot. Miller also showcased a 2-seam that sat 82-84 with heavy sink and some armside run. Miller settled in to the 83-85 mph range in innings 3-5. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior also featured a 73 mph 11/5 breaking curveball with good arm speed and tight rotation. Miller showed advanced bat speed a the plate while barreling the baseball in 3-of-4 at bats.
1/17/10 Miller impressed in all facets of the game to walk away with top prospect honors. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound righty sat 84-86 while touching 87 mph out of a high 3/4 arm slot. Miller displayed a fluid, athletic delivery with even tempo. His two-seam fastball showed heavy run and sink while as did his 76 mph changeup delivered at fastball arm speed. Miller also flashed a 73 mph curveball with slider action that he repeatedly threw for strikes down in the zone.
Miller also displayed the potential to be a highly recruited middle infielder. The right-handed hitter displayed good balance with quick hands and solid extension to his swing. Miller starts from a slightly open stance with a leg lift stride. He showed the ability to routinely barrel the baseball with authority to all fields.
Miller ran a solid 7.02 60-yard dash and showed well above average arm strength across the diamond (88 mph). The junior showed the ability to play through the baseball and a quick release with a soft glove hand.
