4/27/19: Despite turning just 20 years old at the end of this month, Julien is eligible for this year's draft. MLB determined that his year in a secondary school in Canada counted as a year of college. Therefore, his second season at Auburn is his third since high school, making him 2019 draft eligible. His top tool is plus raw power. He generates this pop with natural strength from his 6-foot-2, 195 pound frame and above average bat speed. As a true freshman last season he turned this juice into 15 home runs and currently has eight long balls to go along with 12 doubles this spring. With the power has also come the strikeouts. Julien has punched out at a 25% clip this season, yet it's an improvement from last season's 31% and last summer's 33% rate in the Cape. On this look during batting practice, he showed good rhythm to his swing with a leg lift load and good balance. His timing was good and his swing efficient with his front foot settling while his hands completed their load. Finished high with good extension through the ball. During the game, he got his foot down late making him rush his swing and forcing his bat path in/out of the zone quickly. As a result, he struggled in the series going 0-for-12 with six strikeouts. Slow out of the box, he's a well below average runner down the line (4.48 on a tapper back to the mound), but closer to average underway. At the hot corner, Julien showed stiff actions and graded out as a well below average defender. Had average to slightly better raw arm strength with below average accuracy. He will likely need a move to first base or right field in the future. As a bat first prospect with proven game power, Julien is a Day Two draft talent. Ultimately, where he's selected will be largely determined by his signability as he has a great deal of leverage in both his age and remaining college eligibility. (Seifert)
