6/16/19

6-foot-1, 185-pound, wiry strong, lean athletic frame, with room for added weight and mass. A right-handed hitting outfielder, more of a toolsy type player. Runs well, 7.07, sixty-yard dash, long strider. At the plate, simple balanced approach, line drives to the gaps. The stance is taller, shorter, small pick up and put down with stride foot. The swing is short and crisp, across the chest, keeping hands inside the baseball. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 86 mph. Defensively, from the outfield, has a big strong arm, clocked at 91 mph. The arm action is clean, glides through release, easy carry and flight. Release is quick and smooth. Big athlete, look for big things from this one at the next level.

Tee Exit Velocity: 86 mph
Arm Velocity: 91 mph
Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.07

6/27/18

6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and catcher. Ran a 7.12 sixty on the laser at the event. Threw 82 mph from the outfield, good arm speed on his throws. Athletic and aggressive to the ball. Behind the dish, threw 76 mph, pop time of 1.99. The feet are quick and the transfer is trending well. The receiving needs to continue to improve as he matures. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 85 mph. The swing is simple and and under control. The set up is wide in base, the bottom half is under control throughout. Use his hands very well with the bat. Solid approach to hitting. Solid follow.

7/26/17

6-foot, 176 pounds, thick lower half, prototypical catcher frame. Lean and athletic, slight slope to shoulders with room to hold strength gains. Above average speed for a catcher with quick feet that help him defensively. Throws from a ¾ to high ¾ slot, clocked at 71 mph out of the chute. Pop times between 2.03-2.21, high variance that should only improve as he refines the nuances of the position in the coming seasons. Could see a velocity spike as soon as this spring as he continues physical development. Offensively, Marchetti has a level-up bat path out of an open stance. Stands upright in the box with a moderate leg kick as the hands work from shoulder level, with good extension through the point of contact. Developing power that is already showing up in game situations. Middle-pull approach. Collected two hits during gameplay, including a triple down the third base line along with a single between the shortstop and third baseman. Overall, a big follow with the tools to make some noise on both sides of the ball this upcoming season.

Home-First: 4.54
Exit Velocity: 83 MPH
Arm Velocity: 71 MPH

Future Games
6-foot-1, 170-pound, long, lean, frame, super athletic, fast twitch athlete. A right-handed hitting outfielder, who can help behind the plate as well. The top tool is his overall athleticism, and strength at the plate. The stance is balanced, feet are even at shoulder width, hands are loose, held slightly higher. The lower half is under control, gains ground with stride foot, gets weight transferred from the back side to front. The swing works freely through the zone, approach is more gap to gap, has enough juice to get baseball deep into the alley’s, looks to get right on top of the plate, good plate coverage. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 88 mph, and ran an easy 7.0 sixty-yard dash. In game play collected a single, with a couple walks and HBP. Defensively, arm works and plays in outfield, clocked at 84 mph, baseball comes out of a high ¾ slot. The footwork and routes are accurate, can go get the baseball, is a long strider, covers a good amount of ground in outfield.  A raw athlete, big upside.

Sixty-Yard: 7.0
Exit Velocity: 88 MPH
Arm Velocity: 84 MPH
