3/06/19

6-foot-2, 180-pound, longer, thin, sloped shoulders, with long limbs, has room for added weight and mass.  A left-handed pitcher, who has had a spike in velocity, fastball reached 81 mph at this event. The delivery is sound, all working in one piece, hands start and stay high. The leg kick is clean, athletic, with slight coil at its peak. The arm action has average length to it on the backside, more bottom to top path, working out of a high ¾ slot. The fastball touched 81 mph, 2-seamer being is top pitch, serious arm side action to it. The change up was clocked at 64-66 mph, has fastball hand speed to it, with fade and proper soint o ti, chance to be a put-away pitch to right-handed hitters. The curveball was clocked at 64 -67 mph, tilt to slurve break to it, should be able to be used at the next level. Strength and added weight are a must, look for his game to continue to rise.

7/24/18

6-foot-2, 165-pound, thin, long, lengthy athletic frame, has room to fill out for future development. A left-handed pitcher, pounds the zone with a two pitch mix. The delivery is simple and controlled, leg raise is smooth, gets to a good gather, with weight over the post leg. Slight pull of the head and front glove, stay stacked, will help with finish and extension, making pitches deeper. The arm action is clean on the backside, average length and works out of a ¾ slot. The fastball reached 77 mph, located it down in the zone, with late break to arm side, fastball located to both sides. The breaking ball was thrown for strikes, spin and shape are accurate, thrown at 60-64 mph, could be thrown a tick harder. Showed the ability to get the breaking ball to both sides, with hammering it to the back foot of righties for a put away pitch.  Showed feel for a changeup in warmups, not needed in this outing. Pitched two clean innings, time to the plate was at 1.25, showed the ability to hold runners. The ceiling is high, look for the velocity to continue to climb, made a jump from the last event, good follow.

6/17/18

6-foot-1, 155 pounds, thin, long, lanky athletic frame. Shoulders sloped, room for future development physically. Throws from a high ¾ slot, quick arm action but has a tendency to collapse on the backside. Short stride. Deception with the delivery. Fields his position well. The fastball worked between 70-73 MPH with arm side tail. Changeup was his second best pitch, showing fade to the arm side at 66-67 MPH. His curveball is coming along but still a work in progress from 59-61 MPH, rolls it in there. Strength is a must with a regimented throwing program, he could reach his potential.

3/25/18

6-foot-2, 165 pounds, wiry build with sharp shoulder slope, long legs. Clear physical development since his last PBR event. Still a projectable frame as Walker continues to reach physical maturity. Ran a 7.56 sixty yard dash. A right-handed hitter, the feet set shoulder width apart. Works from an upright, even stance with quiet hands that work from the shoulders. Small step into the pitch, average bat speed with a level bat path. Line drive approach that is pull oriented. His tee exit velocity was measured at 81 MPH, a three MPH spike since his last PBR event as a position player. An outfielder, his profile fits best on a corner. Throws from a ¾ to high ¾ slot, and was clocked up to 72 MPH, showing a six MPH jump from last year. Can still work to engage the whole body more on throws, as at times the arm and the body weren’t in sync. Also a left-handed pitcher, he starts with the hands high from the third base side of the rubber. Stays online with good stride length, repeated his landing spot. Releases from a higher ¾ slot, although at times it can vary. Finding that consistent release point will help hone command as he continues to develop. Long arm circle on the backside where there is also a bit of a collapse, which may play a role in the varied release points. Walker works a standard three pitch mix of fastball, curveball, changeup. The fastball was located down in the zone to both sides clocked at clocked at 71-72 MPH. The breaking ball has some slurve action to it, clocked at 61 MPH, thrown for strikes and could use it for a put-away pitch as well, spin is good. The changeup has down action, works to the arm side, clocked at 62-65 MPH its above average pitch. Look for the velocity to jump at some point, has all the makings of being a solid college pitcher at some point.

3/19/17

6-foot-2, 150-pound, long, lengthy, thin athletic frame, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, the stance is balanced throughout, the feet are slightly wider than shoulder width and front foot is slightly open. The hands start at shoulder height, are loose and work freely through the zone. For timing uses a small controlled leg kick, gains ground with stride foot. The swing is short and direct to the baseball, stays in it well, and keeps the barrel in the zone for a long time. The approach is more middle of the field to opposite, the tee exit velocity was clocked at 78 mph, with a ton more in there as he gets stronger. The hands are really good with life to the barrel. The sixty-yard dash was recorded at 7.69. Defensively, a left-handed first baseman showed soft hands and good flow at first base, arm action is short, throws from a lower slot on starts to second base. The arm was clocked at 66 mph across the diamond. From the outfield, prep steps and attacked the baseball well, arm action was longer from outfield, works out of a ¾ slot, clocked at 72 mph. Good looking young hitter, projects for me more at first base, can defend at a high level.

Sixty-yard dash: 7.69
Exit Velocity: 78 mph
Arm Velocity: 1B-66 mph, OF-72 mph
