Poston made an immediate impact as a freshman reliever during Flo-Dar's 2021 NJCAA World Series run, logging a 0.53 ERA with 20 strikeouts over 14 1/3 innings. At the Flo-Dar Scout Day this past fall, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Rs-sophomore used a long, loose and quick arm action from an aggressive over-the-top slot to run his explosive fastball up to 97 mph with heavy life. He also threw a good 12-to-6 curveball down in the zone, albeit with somewhat inconsistent arm speed a bit, and showcased a changeup with good sink and fade.
