Lanky, high-waisted 6-foot, 165-pound frame that could stand to add weight as he physically develops. Stands tall in the box with little knee bend, bat starts over back shoulder, hands drop at load, short stride. Bat travels on an uphill path through the zone. Molder is lacking bat speed to really capitalize on some power and consistency. Feet occasionally attacks the baseball on an angle defensively, steady hands that work parallel to left foot, and plays through at times. Long winding arm action, high ¾ slot that is much improved since the summer.
7/21/20
5-11, 165 pound first basemen ran a 7.12 sixty, showing some intriguing potential for speed development. Medium, athletic frame w/ high-waist, long and lean, super projectable. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ some lower half rhythm and bat tap. Crouches into toe tap and proper load. Flashes bat speed through the zone when upper and lower halves connected. Rhythm hitter learning to stay balanced with the lower half. Gap power type who wants to use his legs to get extra base hits. Defensively, shows solid footwork w/ soft hands and developing arm strength.
