6/15/16 - Max FB: 87, FB: 84-87, CB: 71-73, CH: 71,
6'0, 165-pound, RHP was the most polished pitcher at the Top Prospect Games and showed a very rhythmic motion, worked with a quick pace and had a commanding presence on the mound, a lot of moving parts in his delivery but everything stays connected throughout, body comes up at the top with his leg lift before dropping into his back leg and attacking the plate, long and loose arm action has improved from past events and came through a high ¾ slot, stride foot lands just a little closed and caused him to finish over it and toward 1B.  Fastball was able to really bear down on right handed hitters with good run and keep lefties reaching, curveball acted more like a slider but had some good break late in the zone.  Schultz is an athlete on the mound that will draw attention.

6/10/15 - The 5 foot 11, 160 pound prospect posted a 7.47 60 time and had position velocity of 80 mph across the infield. Defensively Schultz has playable hands and arm strength with accuracy on his throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Schultz showed fluid footwork. Offensively Schultz has average bat speed and had a 80 mph exit velocity off the tee from the right side. Hits from a slightly open setup with a short stride and a level path, line drive type hitter. Schultz had a single in game two for the black team. On the mound, 5-foot-11, 160-pound RHP has a quick arm that works through a ¾ to high ¾ slot, works across body at times, pounded the strike zone with a two-pitch mix in his two-inning outing, fastball sat 81-84 mph touching 85 on one occasion, fastball shows some occasional arm-side run, showed a harder breaking ball than at previous event at 73-74 mph with slider-type action, good command and attacks hitters working both sides of the plate, allowed two hits and one run in his two innings of work.
2/7/15 - The 5-foot-11, 155-pound RHP shows an average athletic frame. Expressing a smooth windup the righty has a quick arm through a high-3/4 slot, shows a fastball sitting from 82-84mph and topping out at 85mph with some arm-side run and sink. Has good command of his fastball throwing it for strikes. Schultz’s curveball has a 10/4 sweeping motion that sits 71-72mph. His final pitch, a changeup 74-75mph is a great candidate for a strikeout pitch delivering just like his fastball however a 10mph difference in velocity and consists of good sinking action.  As a position player, recorded a 7.66 60-yard dash time and an 80 mph position velocity, Defensively  Schultz showed playable hands and fluid footwork, showed natural instincts and good arm strength with accurate throws. At the plate Schultz hit from a balanced setup and had a short stride, showed average bat speed with an 80 mph exit velocity off the tee. Schultz showed some projectability and needs to continue to improve on his speed and quickness as a middle infielder.
