8/15/20

Fisher made eight appearances as a situational lefty in 2018 while working to harness his control. He took on a bigger bullpen role as a sophomore in 2019, posting a 4.41 ERA in 34.2 innings, with 46 strikeouts against 21 walks. He had Tommy John surgery last fall and missed the spring of 2020 while recovering. When healthy, the athletic 6-foot-5 Fisher presents an exceptionally uncomfortable look for lefthanded hitters. He has a whippy three-quarters to low three-quarters arm slot and attacks at 92-96 mph, along with a solid sweeping 79-82 mph slider that he has learned to back-foot against righties in addition to getting lefties to chase it down and away. He has a pure bullpen profile, and he must continue to improve his strike-throwing ability, but southpaws with his frame and arm strength are always in demand.

2/16/19: Tall, lanky, high waist, broad shoulders. Electric all the way around. Creates good angle. Short arm circle. Lower arm angle and slightly across body. Works from middle of the rubber. Fastball 94-96 with run and deception. Breaking ball above average at 81-84. Back end bullpen type. (Arnold)

5/24/17 - Fisher dominated from his first pitch to his last, showing a competitiveness and fire on the mound that's hard to teach.  He works quickly on the mound and uses a shorter and efficient arm action through a 3/4 slot that doesn't require too much effort.  Fisher stands 6'5, 180 and moves very athletically throughout everything he does.  His fastball sat 88-91, touching 92 on a couple of occasions, and was worked to either side of the plate to both righties and lefties.  Fisher's curveball displayed 1/7 shape from 72-74 with a sharpness that makes it very difficult to hit, let alone square up.  He recorded two full-count strikeouts with his curveball, proving his confidence and ability to throw both pitches for strikes in any count.  As he gets a little stronger and continues to fill out, Fisher could add even more velo.  Don't be surprised to see him develop a solid changeup, as well.

10/23/15 Game notes (Jupiter) - Fisher, at 6-foot-5, 180 pounds, has a long, rangy frame, one that will continue to develop in the coming years. Ranked No. 36 overall, Fisher has an easy delivery and arm action from a high-3/4 slot. He opened the game sitting 85-88 with spotty command, but settled down with his control, and even bumped a few 90s in the fourth inning. He allowed five hits, three runs, struck out five and walked three in five innings work.

7/24/14 - Fisher struggled in his outing, allowing six runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks in three innings, but he struck out four and showed the makings of a good arsenal. He has a high leg kick and stays in line to the plate. Pitching at 85-86, his fastball has good sink to his arm side. He also works in a cutter at times. He slows his arm on his secondary stuff, showing a low-70s changeup and a breaking ball with lateral action.
