The 6-foot-3, 170-pound right-hander made quite the impression at the Unsigned Senior Showcase in late May.  Although Wurms is relatively new to pitching, he possess some big time arm strength and future upside.  High-waisted projectable frame with room to add strength.  Simple repeatable delivery with strong gathering at top of balance point.  Does a nice job getting downhill.  FB worked 86-88 with good life and spin (Max: 2289 rpm | Avg: 2140 rpm via Trackman). Solid command, keeping it down in the zone.  Mixed hard downer CB at 74-76 with decent shape/bite.  Wurms also showed feel for CH at 80-82 w/ some depth and fade. Wurms followed the summer by sitting 86-90, T91 at Lakepoint Fall Invite with same tight breaking ball.  Wurms’s fresh arm and new emphasis on pitching makes him an intriguing late add as the number one uncommitted arm in the class.

6-foot-3, 170-pound Farragut product led the way for fastball velo climbing to 88 in his bullpen session. Very projectable, long high-waisted frame.  Quick arm that works up to 3/4 slot.    Consistent upper 80s (2093-2289 rpm via Trackman).  As a new pitching prospect, Wurms is developing feel for both off-speed offerings, but he maintains good arm speed and good velocity.  As position player, bit of unorthodox swing, but collegiate bat speed (Avg 64.6, Max 71.9 via Blast) and consistent hard contact, in part to strong connection at impact (Avg 88.2). Wurms will be one to watch, especially his development on the bump.

RHP/1B, (2021) Farragut, TN. 6-foot-3, 170-pound projectable frame. At the plate, Wurms clocked an exit velocity of 86 mph. Sets up in a wide stance and uses a short stride. Simple swing plane. In the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 86 mph; has consistent hands and a packing exchange. Throws from a high ¾ slot. Advanced on the mound, had quick arm speed with a loose arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses high effort. Showed tall balance point. Lands square with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 86-88 mph with a max of 88 mph; had a low in the zone command that shows hard movement. Shows some action and glove side command on his changeup. Throws a 1/7 curveball that has low in the zone control.
