6/09/19

5-foot-11, 195 pounds. Hits from an open stance. Bat rests on shoulder until incoming pitch; simple load. Gets extension through contact. Lower half is active. Showed to be another very tough out, which seemed to be contagious for the Raider lineup.

6/01/19

Uncommitted, Dietz is a stocky right handed bat. Showed good plate discipline and bat speed. Needs to improve footwork. Hands were above average on offense and defense.

9/30/18 - Home-1st: 5.12, Pop Time: 2.03-2.09, Position Velocity:  C-69, Exit Velocity: 82

5-foot-11, 195-pound, RHH showed the ability to drive the baseball to his pull side.  Medium, sturdy frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into stride to square and short hand load where hands drop slightly.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  Learning to consistently stay through the baseball w/ extension, tendency to roll over and through it w/ short hip leak.  Projectable pull power.  As a catcher, presents a solid target while dropping to a knee.  Can open the glove more to give his pitcher a better visual cue.  Takes a glove rest where he taps the glove to his hip.  Nature of the glove rest can make it more difficult to stick the baseball.  Resets slightly in his action stance as the pitcher delivers.    Agile w/ ability to box the baseball.  As a thrower, features solid footwork where his lower half occasionally takes him towards third base, which takes his throws that direction as well, w/ projectable carry to target arm strength.
