2/7/15 - The 5 foot 10, 175-pound catcher ran a 7.22 60 yard dash time and had a position velocity of 75 mph, defensively  Clarke showed good receiving skills and arm strength, had natural instincts and a clean exchange, Clarke had  1.96-2.08 pop times. At the plate Clarke had an open setup with a leg kick involved, showed good balance and good bat speed, Clarke is a gap to gap type hitter who shows some power already, had an exit velocity off the tee of 87 mph, showed good projectability and is a guy to keep a close eye on with potential to be a very good left-handed hitting catcher at the next level.

4/27/19: Athletic catcher with a strong build at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. Active, quick feet. Moves well behind the plate. Good flexibility in his hips and ankles. Near average arm strength with a quick release. Ball carries well through the bag for good accuracy. Has thrown out nine of 27 (33%) base runners this spring. Receiving has improved since last summer in the Cape, yet still needs additional polish; seven passed balls this season. Possesses a high baseball IQ with the ability to call his own game in pro ball. At the plate, sets up with a slightly open stance, takes a toe tap stride into a knee lift load and coils into his back hip. Good weight transfer with his forward stride. Carries his hands a bit, but his front side and hands remain separated. Uses whole body in his swing while hitting against a firm front side. Good feel for the barrel. Long through the zone with good lift and extension to swing path. Average bat speed with good bat strength. Above average raw power to his pull side plays into more doubles than home runs during game action. Overall, Clarke is a Day Two draft talent who profiles as a MLB backup catcher. How early on this day will be largely determined by his signability as a sophomore eligible with two years remaining at Vanderbilt. (Seifert)

4/19/19: Clarke stands 5-foot-11, 190-pounds with a durable athletic frame. Impressed by the way he moves both behind the plate and on the bases. At the plate, he uses a slightly open stance, loose hands up around his chin on the pre-pitch, small leg lift on the pitch for timing, lands back to even. Hits off a firm front side, barrel path is short with slight incline, rotational one-arm finish. Defensively, extremely active behind the plate, shows a strong throwing arm to the bags with a quick clean release. (Cevette)

2/15/19: Athletic build. High energy. Controlled game. Receives well for an elite staff. Turned balls into strikes. Quiet actions. Flexible hips/ankles. Throws with good carry/accuracy. Moves well side to side. Slight open stance. Simple set up with hands off shoulder. Tilts barrel up as leg goes up. Balanced, low effort swing. Small scissor/kickback to maintain posture. Solid approach all weekend. Stayed in the strike zone. Sneaky pop. Defense first. Floor is very high with present skills. (Arnold)

9/1/18Physically mature at five-foot-eleven, 190 pounds. Looked fatigued for the Orleans Firebirds with a longer swing path and slider bat speed. Did show above average raw power to his pull side in batting practice, but did not show the same game pop and plate discipline as this past spring when he belted 16 doubles and 6 home runs with 27 walks and 40 strikeouts for the Commodores. Behind the dish, he showed average arm strength with solid footwork. (Seifert)
