Hips tends to open a hair early and can affect his direction to the plate and overall repeatability of the arm-slot. FB shows occasional cut, occasional late life in the zone. Medium downer CB w/ proper shape. CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink. A bit of a thrower right now, projects to command as he learns to control his lower half.
1/17/15 - The 2019, 5-foot-11, 130-pound prospect prospect showed good projectability for his age with a long and lanky frame, works from the stretch only, arm action is clean, works through a high-3/4 to over-the-top arm slot, consistently pounds the strike zone with all pitches, fastball sat 68-69 mph and is mainly straight, shows good feel for 64-67 mph curveball with12/6 and 1/7 action with some depth, also shows good feel for 61-63 mph changeup that shows some sink and fade, good upside on this young prospect and one to keep an eye on in the future. As a position player, young prospect with a lanky frame that will fill out moving forward, had a 64 mph exit velocity off the tee, ran a 4.90 home to first base time, hit from a closed setup, tope tap with no stride, average bat speed, significant pre-pitch movement , is a line drive type hitter, offensive game will continue to evolve with strength gains. Position Velocity was 70 mph from the outfield, had good footwork and a clean exchange with natural instincts, plays through the ball well.
