There’s a lot to like in Greer’s athletic and versatile profile. The Baylor kickback can play just about anywhere on the diamond including catcher, where he exhibits good catch-and-throw skills thanks to a quick release and plus arm strength needed to stymie the running game. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound backstop is an advanced blocker and knows how to steal strikes for his pitchers as a receiver. Greer’s athleticism enables him to play a strong third base, and he’s also seen some time in the outfield. Most importantly, as a switch-hitter with an advanced approach and power potential, Greer has the offensive upside to profile at any of the aforementioned positions.
