10.07.17 - 5-foot-7, 168-pounds. Evans did a great job of pitching to contact, creating good movement on all five of his pitches and being efficient with a low pitch count. The right-hander works from a ¾ slot with a long arm swing. He throws a heavy fastball at 72-76 mph with good arm side run. Kept hitters off balance with an 11/5 curveball with good depth. Mixed in a slider that had more lateral 10/4 shape at 66-67 mph. Throws his changeup with fastball arm speed, creating good depth at 68-69 mph. For good measure, he mixes in a split-finger fastball at 67 mph that dives out of the strike zone late.
The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance with his hands over his back shoulder. Quick rhythm as he strides forward and lower half rotates to contact. Flat path produced line drives through the infield and hard ground balls with an exit velocity of 77 mph. In the outfield, he made accurate throws to the plate from a high-¾ slot at 76 mph.

07.25.17 - 5-foot-7, 175-pound frame. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a long arm swing with average effort. Decent rhythm in a tall-and-fall delivery, lands closed with a fairly athletic lower half finish. Evans commanded the strike zone with good feel for both his fastball and changeup, retiring four in a row at one point. Fastball ranged from 72-76 mph. Throws his changeup with fastball arm speed at 68-69 mph with slight fade. His curveball has early break with lateral 10-4 shape at 68-70 mph. A two-way player and right-handed hitter, Evans starts from a balanced setup. Short stride, quick, choppy rhythm with a short stride. Contact approach during batting practice produced ground balls and shallow line drives with a 72 mph exit velocity off the tee. In the outfield, Evans has average feet and hands as he transfers into a long arm stroke with tilted shoulders, throwing 76 mph to the dish.
