6-foot, 190-pound athletic frame. The right-hander throws from a ¾ slot with a long, smooth arm swing. His fastball was 88-90 mph for his three innings of work with good command to both sides of the plate. He also flashed a sinker at 85 mph where he would drop his arm slot to sidearm and get good arm-side run on the pitch. He threw two breaking balls, a curveball and a slider. His curveball was around 70-71 mph with big, 11/5 shape while his slider was around 80-81 mph with good lateral, sweeping movement. Howard also had a changeup he threw a couple times ranging from 79-80 mph.
