I was excited for my first in person viewing of Devillier. The TCU commit has a big physical frame with some present strength but room for more. He pitched mostly off his FB, that touched 89 and sat mostly 86-88. He was most comfortable going glove side with the pitch. He also showed a CB and CH. In this outing he looked more comfortable with the CH, throwing it to both Righties and Lefties. As Plano East’s starting QB as well, the athleticism is evident and there should be some big jumps coming for Devillier.
10/01/21
The 6-foot-5, 195-pound TCU commit shows you a ton to love right now and even more to dream on down the road. The athletic right hander shows the ability to fill up the zone with a long arm path throwing out of a ¾ slot, repeating his delivery well. Devillier will run the fastball up to 89 but sitting comfortably just below that. The future Horned Frog also mixed in a breaking ball with depth and swing and miss ability at 72-76. Devillier seems to get off the rubber well, getting extension through his delivery, and causing his fastball to jump on hitters at times. Surprise, Surprise, He also duals as the QB1 for Plano East, giving us even more of a reason to believe he will continue to develop athletically and ultimately turn into one of the premier arms in the country.
