Johnson stands 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, with a lean-strong frame. The two-way talent started the day with a 7.04 60-yard dash time, then posted an exit velocity of 90 mph. The right-handed hitter has a short, quick, upward hack with a strong top hand that allows him to get the barrel through contact with gap power and more to come. He moves easy at third base with natural feel for the position and can throw from different slots. On the mound, his fastball was 82-85 mph flashing arm side fade.  He works from a natural ¾ slot with an athletic lower half. Got around his curveball at times, but the pitch has good shape and flashes depth at 70-73 mph. His changeup has heavy fade at 77-78 mph. With his size, strength, and athleticism, Johnson has a high ceiling and a bright future.

2021 RHP/3B Evan Johnson (Frenship HS) is going to be fun to watch as he continues to develop as a two-way player. At 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, Johnson already has a strong, projectable frame. On Thursday, his fastball got up to 87 mph, sitting mostly 84-86 mph. He was still 83-85 mph on Saturday, and shows feel for a sharp curveball at 68-69 mph. In game one, his curveball got as high as 70-74, whith a 69-71 mph changeup.

Johnson is going to be fun to watch as he continues to develop as a two-way player. At 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, Johnson already has a strong, projectable frame. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a clean arm swing and a drop-and-drive delivery down the mound with good hip turn, landing square. His fastball sat 84-87 with good life and some arm side depth. He has a really good feel for repeating his delivery from both the windup and the stretch, where his athleticism allows him to stay synced up. Showed the ability to pitch to both sides of the plate and to get the ball in to both right - and left-handed hitters. His curveball was 70-71 with short, late bite and 1/7 shape. A two-way player and right-handed hitter, Johnson starts from a wide, relaxed base with his hands wagging the bat in a low position before he triggers them back as he pushes his weight back to load, then strides forward. Mostly flat path through the zone with twitch in his hands and strength in the barrel. Posted an exit velocity of 89 mph and made hard contact during BP. On the infield, Johnson has smooth footwork and soft hands as he plays through the ball with rhythm and shows natural feel for playing third base. He plays with a bounce in his step, can throw on the run, and his arm works from different angle with a top velocity of 88 mph. Ranked No. 18 in the Texas 2021 Class, look for big things from Johnson in the near future.
