Barrel gets on plane and has bat speed for his age, posting a max exit velo of 85 mph. Threw 73 mph from behind the plate and had pop times of 2.08-2.15. Shows above average skill level for his age, will be interesting to see his tools grow.
2/24/18: 5-foot-11, 185 pound catcher has a strong, physical frame for his age. In the box, he has a level bat path with some extension. Gap to gap power. Strong hands. Average use of lower half. Tends to dive. Partial hip rotation. Behind the plate, his footwork is long, flat. Slightly long arm action, high 3/4 slot. Strong arm. Pop times ranged between 2.11-2.22.
