HP Scout Day (Fall 2018)
Cramer has been committed to Arkansas for about a year. He posted an exit velocity of 90 mph off the tee, then proceeded to knock to cover off the ball during batting practice. Looking back over the past year and a half, you can see that Cramer has always had an aggressive hack with a big leg kick and twitchy hands, but he has certainly continued to develop and is starting to show the type of polish that accompanies playing in the SEC.
01.13.18
Arkansas recruit. Cramer has a projectable, high-waisted, athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. An all-around athlete with long strides, Cramer ran a 7.2 60-yard dash, but it’s easy to dream that he will post lower times as he continues to fill out his frame. The right-handed hitter starts from a neutral stance before using a smooth load back to get started. Triggers his hands down and back, strides forward, landing balanced with good separation. Easy weight transfer, uphill path, loose-quick hands, good feel for the barrel, strong contact with leverage from the middle to pull side with an exit velocity of 86 mph. On the infield, Cramer moves with fluid footwork and a quick first step. Soft hands as he ranges to both his right and left. Moves easy through the catch. Quick exchange into throws with carry across the infield with some effort at 82 mph.

09.30.17 - 2020 SS Hunter Cramer has a projectable, athletic, fast-twitch frame at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. The recent Arkansas recruit, is a confident, aggressive player with good presence and moxy. During the game, he made a great play on a hard shot up the middle. After breaking to his left, the ball ricocheted off the pitcher's glove. Cramer change direction, snagged the ball by diving to his back-hand side, then gunned the ball over the first base. A right-handed hitter, Cramer has an aggressive approach, and produces solid bat speed with rhythm and strength at contact. He starts from a crouched stance, big load back, aggressive leg-kick as triggers his hands down and back, quick hips into a powerful weight transfer. Quick hands through the zone, hard contact during batting practice, loose-high finish creates lift and carry.

07.22.17 - 6-foot-1, 160-pound, wiry, athletic, fast-twitch frame. Cramer is a confident, aggressive player with good presence, and is one of the those players that college coaches will want to see in the coming year. Moves with easy, long strides on defense and flashes fluid actions. At shortstop, Cramer is an athletic defender with quick footwork, soft hands with smooth rhythm and timing as he plays through the ball. Short arm swing from a high-¾ slot, he threw 71 mph across the diamond. Made a nice play in the game on a hard charging ground ball, then showed good body control to get the runner at first base. The rising sophomore ran a 7.15-second 60-yard dash and posted an exit velocity 88 mph off the tee. Cramer, a right-handed hitter, has a lot of moving parts in his swing, but produces solid bat speed with with rhythm and strength at contact. He starts from a crouched stance, big load back, aggressive leg-kick as triggers his hands down and back, quick hips into a powerful weight transfer. Quick hands through the zone, hard contact during batting practice, loose-high finish creates lift and carry. During the game he had a single up the middle and squared up a ground ball right at the second baseman.

A two-way player, Cramer threw at the end of the day, working from a ¾ slot with a short, quick arm stroke. Rushed rhythm in a tall-and-fall delivery with limited leg drive, recoil on finish as he tends to fall off to his glove side. He threw his fastball for strikes with slight arm-side run at 73-77 mph. Throws his changeup with fastball arm speed at 68 mph with good fade. His curveball has decent 10/4 shape at 66-67 mph, but he tended to leave the pitch up in the zone.
