1.21.19
Has a long-limbed frame at 6-foot, 190-pounds. The right-handed hitter pound the baseball around the yard during BP, showing off quality bat speed (90 mph off the tee) and juice to the middle of the field. The arm strength is there in the outfield as he posted a top velocity of 90 mph, and ran a 7.04 60-yard dash. Although he was only 82-83 off the mound later in the day, I could see him being a guy that makes a jump in the next couple of months with his arm strength and overall athleticism. His fastball has movement and he can spin a slider.

Wells has a sturdy frame at 6-foot, 185-pounds, and showed good overall strength by posting a top exit velocity of 94 mph, running a 7.16 60-yard dash, and throwing 84 from the outfield. On the mound, he pumped strikes at 83-85 mph, and showed feel for spin with a 67-69 mph curveball, and a sharp slider for a punchout at 70 mph.

12.11.16
5-foot-10, 160-pound, projectable frame with long limbs. Works from a ¾ slot with long, whip-like arm action. Good hip turn down the mound creates some deception in delivery. Fastball ranged from 74-76 mph with arm-side run and sink. Changeup is straight with some late downward action at 69 mph. Curveball has depth at times from 62-64 mph and shows signs of becoming a solid pitch. Intriguing prospect to follow on the mound with the projectable frame, long limbs and solid arm-action.
On the infield he shows accuracy and carry on his throws with solid, elbow-dominant arm action at 70 mph. Average footwork and rhythm for his class. Offensively, the right-handed hitter starts from a tall, slightly open stance with loose rhythm. Slight toe-tap to get started with a rotational swing and flat bat-path that should improve with addition of natural strength. Wells has natural leverage with his projectable frame and does a good job on pitches he can get extended on. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash.
