4/18/19

6-foot-2, 175-pound athletic, wiry, projectable frame with a high waist. The right-hander throws from a high ¾ slot with a loose, quick arm swing. His fastball was 92-94 mph, touched 95 mph with late run inside to righties. He also threw a slider at 77-78 mph with swing and miss to his glove side.

8.26.18

Wolf has a loose arm swing to go with his young, still developing frame 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Working from a high-¾ slot, the Texas A&M commit ran his fastball up to 92 a couple of times, sitting mostly 89-91. Threw some quality sliders with short, late break and 11/5 shape at 78-80. Threw one changeup at 83 mph. The ball comes out clean, and there is likely more in the tank.

8/10/18

Started for the Rangers and went three innings, allowing a run on two hits, two walks and a hit batter while striking out five. He was 90-92 mph early before settling into the high 80s. He pitches from a high slot with some stiffness and mixes in a slider with late 10/4 break, flashing sharpness and the potential to be an average or better pitch down the road. All but one of his strikeouts came on the slider.

Jupiter Fall 2017
Wolf's current stuff combined with his high-ceiling potential makes him one of the most intriguing right-handed prospects in the 2019 class. At 6-foot-2, 165 pounds, Wolf is high-waisted, wiry, lean and long. He's far from physical maturity, which makes his 89-92 fastball that much more impressive. It's easy to dream once he fills into his frame that his velocity will continue to spike in the coming years. He works from a high-¾ slot with a smooth, compact arm circle in the the back, and has an extremely quick hand at foot strike. His delivery is simple and balanced with an open landing. The fastball showed occasional late darting life. Moreover, Wolf also flashed the makings of a swing-and-miss slider at 77 mph, though he was inconsistent with it. With sharpened control around the zone, Wolf can quickly vault into being one of the premier pitching prospects in the country.
