2/22/21

From the first pitch Perez reminded me of Greg Maddux with his smooth, athletic, hands over the head, old school delivery. Perez is also of similar size and build to Maddux at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds. To date he’s been mainly a reliever for the Horned Frogs, but profiles for me as a starter at the next level with a easy, repeatable delivery and strong command of a three pitch arsenal which includes a 91-95 mph fastball, a short low-80s slider and fading 78 mph changeup. Perez worked quickly, putting away Mississippi State’s lineup and bridging the gap to the back end of the pen in the Horned Frogs’ win over the Bulldogs.

06.26.17 - 5-foot-11, 155-pound, lean, athletic frame. Perez works from a true-¾ slot with a quick, whip-like arm stroke. His fastball exploded on hitters at 90-91 mph in the game. He throws a swing-and-miss slider at 77-78 mph with 10-4 shape and good downward action to finish

03.02.17 -
TCU commit. 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame. Perez has a lean, muscular frame that operates with great amounts of explosive energy. Perez showcased a powerful three-pitch mix. His fastball (88-91 mph) was exceptionally lively, running hard under the hands of right-handed hitters, while his slurve, a 74-76 mph offering, sharply broke down and away with considerable depth. Perez’s changeup, which is still in development, was 82-84, but showed potential for lateral action and depth as well. He tallied 4 strikeouts in his three innings of relief work.

11.05.16

5-foot-11, 158-pound, frame. Works from a ¾ slot with quick, slinger-type arm action with an athletic delivery. Perez had great life on his fastball sitting 88-90 mph in the first inning. Has great feel for his slider keeping his hand on top and showing good 10-4 action at 75-77 mph.
