5-foot-11, 165-pound solid lean build. Smooth during batting practice, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 84 mph. (61.3 mph bat speed average). (19.1 mph hand speed average). Begins in a strong tall stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a small stride. Bat speed is quick efficient, shows an an inside-out swing plane and high finish. During his round he produced loud contact and found some barrels. Gap to gap approach. Smooth in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 83 mph; has soft consistent hands, athletic in control feet, and a quick clean exchange. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Showed a ¾ slot and a compact quick arm action. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.88.
Maryland Preseason Preview
Body: 5’10”, 150 pounds. Athletic body type.
Hit: LHH. Hits from a tall, balanced square stance at the plate. Rhythmic, quiet back load with solid hand separation. Stays behind the ball really well with a direct path to contact. Attacks the ball with intent, utilizing the lower half well. Keeps his hands inside the ball nicely with a solid gap-to-gap line drive approach. Ball comes off the bat really well into the gaps and alleys. Strong two-handed finish.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Present pop to the gaps with more projected as his body continues to fill out.
Arm: RH. INF - 74 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from an over the top slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball well in the infield with quick feet and soft hands. Fields the ball out in front and funnels to the belt. Quick, clean exchanges with some lateral range.
Run: 4.25 Home to first base time.
Junior Future Game Trials Session II
Positional Profile: SS
Body: 5’8”, 140 pounds. Athletic, projectable frame.
Hit: LHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance with hands pre set from the left side. Smooth back load into a longer stride. Creates some hand separation with a more level swing path. Stays behind the ball well, generating some lower half involvement. Quick hands and fast bat speed with good extension through and past contact with quick recoil, finishing with two hands. Solid gap to gap line drive approach.
Power: 67 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. INF - 66 mph. Throws with short arm action from a mid to high three quarter slot.
Defense: Plays loose with active feet and soft hands. Gets around the ball well and plays through it towards the bag. Fields the ball out in front, gathers at the chest and shows clean exchanges with a slight glove tap. Shows fundamental footwork with good range and the ability to throw from various arm slots.
Run: 4.40 home-to-first time.
