3/04/23

Williamson has a strong, 6-foot, 190-pound frame. He has proportional strength present and visible throughout the frame. The Tribe third baseman is coming off of a strong 2022 campaign where he was awarded first team All-CAA for the second straight year, as well as being named the Defensive Player of the Year. Williamson can defend at a high level, showing above average defensive tools across the board. Made a really nice forehand play with a glove side spin and threw out the batter-runner at first. Followed that up a few hitters later with a nice run through to end the inning. The arm is above average and is very accurate across the infield, showing the ability to make plays coming forward, as well as lateral plays, with arm strength and accuracy across. He is also off to a strong start at the plate in 2023. The senior infielder is currently hitting .424 with eight multi-hit games. At the plate it is a pretty short path to contact. He displayed above average zone discipline and swing decisions. His one ball in play was on a two strike count where he was slightly out front, but the swing stayed in the zone long enough to allow him to get the barrel on it resulting in the line out to center. He is primed for another all conference type of year and is one to watch this spring.

Williamson is athletic. Lined a single up the middle in his first at-bat, showing a short swing and his batspeed. Smooth at short. Made a relief appearance and struck out 5 in the last two innings. Threw with three levels of effort, when throwing easy was 80-83, some effort was 85-87, threw two pitches with high effort, one was 89 and the other 91. Showed a change-up at 73 and a sharp breaking ball with good armspeed at 78.
