09/2015: Committed to Lafayette

4.22.16:  Kreyer has an athletic frame with a strong lower half and throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. He has a short, free arm action that generates velocity with normal effort. His shoulders are closed and level as he strides to a square, athletic landing. His fastball had downward plane with some cut, sitting 78-81 early and high 76-78 in the fifth inning. His changeup had good armspeed and was 68. He threw a gradual 12/6 curveball that was 64-66 and a sharp, hard 1/7 slider that was 71-73.

6.23.15 Kreyer has an athletic frame with a strong lower half. He has a quick tall and fall delivery and throws from a high three-quarters arm slot. He is short on the backside before a quick armstroke that generates velocity with some effort. His shoulders are uphill and online as he strides out to a square landing before coming to an athletic finish with a slight recoil. Kreyer’s fastball has slight cutting action with good downward plane and ran 80-82. His slider had late, tight 10/4 break and was thrown with good armspeed at 73-74. He threw an overhand curveball with 12/6 break that is sharp when down in the zone that ran 61-62. His changeup was thrown with full armspeed and had armside run, sitting 71-74. Kreyer’s command of all four pitches was outstanding to both sides of the plate.

2/22/15:  Kreyer stands 6-foot with a strong lower half. He has a quick, drop and drive delivery and throws from a high three-quarters slot. His arm action is short and he has a quick armstroke, generating velocity with some effort. His shoulders are uphill and closed and he strides out on line to a square landing before falling off and recoiling as he finishes. Kreyer’s fastball sat 79-81 with hard run to it. His 12/6 curveball had late breaking action with full armspeed and came in 61-62. He also showed a tight, late breaking 2/8 slider that sat 66-68. He also threw a fading change-up with good armspeed that ran 65-69. Kreyer had outstanding command of all of his pitches.

11/9/2014:  Kreyer is 5-foot-11 and has a strong lower half on his frame. He throws from a high three-quarters slot and has a short arm action as he wraps his wrist. He is smooth and stays on line and finishes his mechanics in a good fielding position. Kreyer’s fastball sat 80-82 and touched 83 on the day. He threw two breaking balls, a 12/6 curveball with a big, gradual break that was 64-65 MPH and a sharp slider that ran 2/8 and 67-69. He also flashed a fading change-up at 73. Kreyer commanded all of his pitches well and did an outstanding job of mixing locations and pitch types to keep hitters off balance. He clearly has a good feel for how to pitch.
