Peggins is 6-5 with a strong frame. He hits from the right side from an open tall relaxed stance, two-tap stride on line, loads back. Hips rotate completely and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, uphill swing path, showed a pull preference, strength at contact with extension through the ball, has some present power, exit velocity was 92. In the infield, gets behind the ball and fields with average hands, clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters slot, position velocity was 80. Ran a 7.56 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot, shorter loose arm action and easier effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and slightly closed, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 78-82, with some hard late run to armside. Curveball had some armspeed and was 70-71 with hard 10/4 break to it. Showed a change-up in warm-ups with good armspeed and heavy fade.
Preseason All-State II
Peggins is 6-4 with a strong athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a relaxed upright open stance, leg kick stride on line, loads back, hips rotate completely with some violence, has some balance during his swing. Short to contact, keeps hands inside ball, very strong at contact point with some extension through ball, slightly uphill line drive path, worked primarily gap to gap, exit velocity was 93. At first, gets body behind ball and fields with average hands. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 76. On the moun, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a long free arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and on line, lands square with athletic finish. Fastball was 73-75 with boring action to its armside. Curveball was 62-65 with gradual 11/5 break and good armspeed. Change-up was 67-68 with good armspeed and some fade.
