6.11.16: Richardson has a lanky frame. He is very smooth at short, with clean actions and takes good angles on balls. He has soft hands and good quickness to go with a strong arm. At the plate, he hits from a slightly open stance with explosive hands and a fast bat. He worked gap to gap and has a line drive swing with doubles power. Ran a 4.34 on a groundout to short.

3.15.16: Richardson had a good day offensively and his speed and batspeed were on display. He made good contact in his second at bat and got a good jump to steal a base. Later in the game he showed his gap power and willingness to use the whole field, driving a ball to right-center for a ground rule double.

10.14.15: Hit from a slightly open, narrow stance. Fluid rhythm in hands with smooth load back. Stride gets on line and gets to center. Lower half explodes to the ball with good balance. Explosive bat speed. Bat exit velocity of 90 mph. Short swing path that stays through the zone well. Advanced approach to the round. Sprayed balls to gaps with pull power. Elite hitter with electric hands. In the field threw from a short, slightly stiff high ¾ arm slot. Accurate arm that has a positional velocity of 84 mph. Soft hands with athletic, fluid footwork that plays through the ball. Quick and clean exchanges. Advanced fielder with great range and feel for his position.

6.13.15: Richardson hits from the right side with a square stance and a slight crouch. He has a short swing and decent batspeed. He did not make real good contact at any point in the game, but did demonstrate his pitch recognition in all of his at-bats by laying off some close pitches. He also got up the line quickly on his lone base hit of the game, beating out a high chopper to third. In the field, he is incredibly smooth, with great feet and range to go with a strong arm. He also is very aware of what is going on around him, holding a tag on a runner as he overslid on wet turf to get an out at second.

Richardson is a UVA commit that is an outstanding athlete. In the field, Richardson has soft hands, quick feet, and an above average arm. At the plate, he has outstanding bat speed and a gap-to-gap approach with power potential.
