Scott has a compact athletic frame. Got the start on the mound and threw a strong six innings. Delivery has some pace and intent and is a high effort arm. Full arm swing from a low three-quarter slot. Two pitch mix and throws both pitches consistently for strikes. 71 pitches in six innings and 80% strikes. The fastball was 81-83 mph with some arm side run and sink and was able to find some early weak contact. The fastball played best down in the zone and tended to flatten out as he got it up. The slider was 72-74 mph with some late depth and occasional sweep to it. Worked well in plus counts and was not as much of an early get ahead type of pitch. Got multiple swings and misses on that pitch and is a solid out pitch. Lynchburg commit.

Scott is a sophomore that came in in relief of Eggleston in a tough bases loaded spot in the 5th. For someone that has very little varsity pitching experience I thought he handled himself well. Starts with a small side step rocker and gets to an average balance point with consistent repeatable mechanics. Is gathered over the rubber, makes a down and out move to home, and lands slightly closed. Has above average arm speed and the action is pretty clean with low effort throwing from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball was between 76-79 mph and relied on it heavily. Did not have a feel for any secondary pitches, but the curveball showed 11/5 shape with loose spin and sat at 65-67.
