5.24.17: Ottinger has an athletic 6-4 frame and throws from a very short arm action that is quick. High three-quarters arm slot with normal effort, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands square and comes to an athletic and complete finish. Fastball was 84-85, touching 86 with some plane and run early in the game. Was working 82-84 in the fourth inning. Threw two breaking balls, a hard slider with late 11/5 action that was 75-77 and a sharp 12/6 curveball that was 69-71. Line drive swing with some batspeed at the plate, barrels the ball consistently.

10.31.15: Ottinger has an athletic, projectable frame and throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a smooth drop and drive delivery. He has a short arm action and a quick arm that generates velocity with regular effort. His shoulders are closed and slightly uphill as he strides out to a square landing before falling off a bit as he finishes. Ottinger’s fastball sat 81-83, touching 84, with slight sink and run and good plane to it. His curveball had sharp 11/5 action and was thrown with good armspeed, running 68-72. His curveball was much better at the higher end of its velocity range and he showed good command of both of his pitches.
