Barrett is a slick fielder at short with very quick feet and fast soft hands. Exchange is very quick and he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with some arm strength. Very good defender. Hits from left side and drags bat, defense first prospect that needs to add strength and batspeed for the bat to play at the next level. Defense at short is good enough to keep tabs on.

Barrett has a lanky frame with a lot of projection left to it. At short, has good feet and smooth actions with above average hands. Good rhythm fielding ball. Throws from a low-three quarters arm slot and arm is loose with some life to it. Ball comes out of hand well. Drew two walks in game so didn't get a chance to see much at the plate, but the athleticism and actions at short make Barrett a prospect worth following and checking in on again.
