Pitches primarily stretch only. Projectable athletic frame. Leg kick with a down to out and slight hip load with some back side through release. Athletic arm action throwing from a high three quarter slot. Fastball showed later life when working down in the zone with run. Got slight cut when he flattened out up in the zone. Was 85-88 in the first, ranged 83-87 throughout the game, topped out at 89 in the first. Breaking ball had 12/6 action on the pitch with tight spin and later break. Ranged from 73-77 at times. Pitch shows potential. Room for more in the arm and body. Pitches with some effort.
8.9.17: Loving is 6-2 with an athletic frame, has a drop and drive delivery and throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot with a shorter, free quick arm action and normal effort. Good rhythm to delivery, shoulders are closed and uphill, lands on line with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 81-85 with downward plane and some late sink to it. Curveball was 64-66 with hard sharp 11/5 break and good armspeed. Change-up was 68-70 with late run and some armspeed. Good feel for all three pitches.
