3/13/22

vs Georgia Tech: A fourth-year junior Biddison is the ultimate do-it-all college player. With defensive versatility and the skills to hit in multiple places in the order he's invaluable to the Hokie lineup. Leading off this series and playing both right and center fields, he went 4-for-15 with three walks and two RBI. At the plate the one thing that stood out is his hand speed. His explosive hands can cover the inner half with ease and he can really drop the barrel for hard contact to his pull side. He's also very quick on the bases, 7-for-7 already this season

Biddison is the ultimate do-it-all college player. Versatility defensively, can hit in multiple places in the order, great athlete, and plays the game hard. In the fall I saw Biddison play first base and he looked a bit uncomfortable, as I do not think he had been there long, but times have changed. He looked really good there on Sunday. He is such an exceptional athlete that he covers a lot of ground laterally and has the recovery foot speed to beat batter-runners to first base on ground balls. He had one short hop on a throw across that he picked cleanly. At the plate he starts open, controlled load, and lands on line. One thing that stands out about Biddison at the plate is his hand speed. Very quick hands and can cover the inner half with ease. Had a double down the line in his third at bat. He did not get out of the box great, but still still turned a 4.62. Will be an interesting follow as we get deeper into the season and approach the draft, as he has the ability to do a lot of different things well on the field.

10/22/21

Biddison has a strong athletic 5-foot-10 frame. After patrolling the outfield and some middle infield spots early on in his career, it appears as though he has been relegated to first base for now. Possible lingering arm issues from surgery last year may have contributed to that. He possesses the athleticism to contribute in multiple places on the field and if the arm gets healthy he could be a very versatile defender that would offer some intrigue going into the draft. Biddison is an above average runner and has the ability to stretch some extra bases. Turned out a 4.04 home to first on a groundball that kept Tech out of an inning ending double play. In his first at bat he jumped on a 1-1 fastball for a two RBI single back through the middle. He has the bat to ball skills to hit in the front half of the order and should benefit from some guys like Cross and Schobel being around him. Raw strength in the swing that has the chance to produce in game, especially as he continues to work back to 100% and gets more reps. Defensively at first on the day, you could tell that this was something new. While he has the athleticism to make the adjustments and get the job done, there was some uncomfortability on a few groundballs to first that required a flip, or the decision of whether or not to make a feed to a pitcher covering. During pregame he showed some bounce around the bag, made quick accurate throws on double plays balls, and again is plenty athletic to play first and just about every other position on the field.

4/04/18

VA/DC Scout Blog 4/4/18: Athletic, strong frame. Hits from a balanced taller set up at the plate. Quiet smooth load with a slight arm bar and leg lift. Explosive hands at the plate with fast bat speed. Uphill finish with extension. Power is present. Great barrel awareness and bat control. Very athletic and runs well with a motor. Converted behind the plate now for year two. Athletic receiver with soft hands, occasionally ball will beat him, but that should only get better with reps. Great feet and movement with body control. Lightening exchange and release with arm cannon. 1.88 pop between innings. Throws have pace and carry. Think will be a successful college player who could move on after.

6/27/17

Biddison has an athletic frame and a strong lower half, hits from the right side from an open balanced stance. Leg kick stride, smooth load back, explosive hips and good balance to swing. Good rhythm, easy swing. Quick bat, short to ball with quick hands, extends uphill through it. Good approach, uses whole field, has power to all fields, exit velocity was 88. At short, clean footwork, fields with wide base, soft hands. Works through the ball to a quick clean exchange. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short, quick arm action, throws had some carry, position velocity was 86. Home to first was 4.56.

5/24/17

Biddison is athletic, hits from the right side, very simple swing explosive bat speed and extension through the ball. Drives the ball to all fields, line drive hitter that hits them far. Doubled off of the centerfield fence with a line drive that never got more than 20 feet off if the ground. Behind the plate, gets into a deep stance, loose hips, slides well and soft hands receiving the ball. Needs more reps blocking the ball, but has a chance to be good. Between inning pop time was 2.09 with a double clutch, position velocity was 77. Quickness on the bases, instinctual runner, reads ball quickly and gets to top speed fast as well. On the mound, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, shorter quick arm action with easy effort to his delivery. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands closed. Fastball has plane and late run. Sat 86-87, touched 89 when he wanted too. Change-up had fade and good armspeed at 73. Slowed his arm a bit on his 11/5 curveball, running 68-70.

10/15/15 - Verbally committed to North Carolina

Biddison is an athletic infielder with a strong arm and good range at shortstop. He has a good bat and hits for average and some power with the potential for significantly more power to develop.
