2.17.18: Russell is 6-0 with a lankier frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, strides on line, short load back wrapping his bat, some rhythm to his swing. Very explosive hips that rotate fully, some balance to his swing as well. Quick hands, keeps them inside and stays very short to contact, level line drive swing with good extension through the ball, some whip to his bat. Showed good approach working gap to gap, finishes uphill and generates backspin, has doubles power to middle of field with a chance for home run power at some point, exit velocity was 91. In the outfield, clean feet, gets behind ball, plays through it fielding with above average hands. Quick clean transfer, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, outfield velocity was 85.
