The lefthanded hitting Moore hit against Savino three times. In the first at-bat leading off an inning, he took a slider for a strike and then on the second pitch barreled an outside corner fastball for a base hit through the 5.5 hole. In his second at-bat with a runner on third and no outs, he got pitched around in taking a walk and did a good job laying off four breaking balls, three of which were down and good pitches just outside of the zone. Also laid off a fastball that was down on the outside black, seemed to be approaching the situation correctly trying to get something he could lift. In his third at-bat, with the game tied in the sixth and the go-ahead run on first base, he struck out, swinging through three sliders that were down in the zone. Pulled off all three, was trying to hit them out of the park.

Moore DH’d in the game. He hits from the left side with a big leg kick and a longer uphill swing path, very pull/fly ball oriented. Has home run power to his pull side and is very strong at and through contact. Home run power will definitely translate to the next level. Hit home run in this game, not the best contact, basically muscled the ball out to right-center.

3.30.16:  Moore has a good athletic frame. He hits from an open stance with high hands. He has a leg kick stride while loading back and up. He has good hips and balance throughout his swing. Moore is short to the ball and has good batspeed while working uphill through the ball. He has a pull approach with gap power already and projects to have easy home run power at some point.
