Gwathmey is 5-7 with an athletic frame that has strength present and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load up and back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, some strength at contact point, showed a pull approach with the ability to work the gaps, some extra base power present to his pull side, exit velocity was 85. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 81. Ran a 7.60 60 yard dash.
