Williams has an athletic frame that still has a ton of projection to it. He varies his mechanics and uses multiple arm slots, as you can see in the video, each pitch has different mechanics. He is incredibly athletic and maintains his command and feel while changing his mechanics from one pitch to the next. The arm action is short and very quick, he throws with normal effort. His fastball was 83-84 early in the outing, and he held that velocity regardless of whether he lifted his leg or used a slide step. Pitch had some late life and he commanded to both sides of the plate. In the fifth inning, he was sitting 80-81 but could still grab an 84 when he wanted it. Curveball had good armspeed and was 70-73 with 2/8 break that was late. He knows how to pitch.

9.16.17:  Williams has a lanky frame and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot. Short, loose quick arm, generates velocity with normal effort. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands closed with fall off finish, deceptive crossfire delivery. Fastball sat 76-79, touching 80, with a good angle and some late run and sink. Curveball had good armspeed and was 64-70 with sharp late 2/8 break. Changed up delivery to mess with hitters’ timing as outing progressed.
