Lynch has an ultra projectable lanky frame, listed at 6-foot-6, with long limbs and plenty of room to fill out. Lynch was a bit scattered in this outing, landing approximately 45% of his pitches for strikes. However, this remains to be a very intriguing arm because the stuff plays, but he is going to have to figure out consistency of his arsenal around the zone. The fastball was 87-89 mph and touched 90 mph once. The release point was inconsistent and missed to both sides and both ends. Lynch showed what appears to be two different breaking balls, one a get me over type curveball at 73-75 mph and the other a power curve/slider at 77-78 that flashed plus potential a few times. Hard late 10/4 action with plenty of depth. The changeup was 81-82 mph with average feel. This was not Lynch's best outing, but this has the potential to be a legitimate arm down the road if he can figure out the consistency around the zone and continue to add feel for the secondary. There is some effort in the delivery and I question whether or not he has the staying power to start, but regardless if he can add polish to the secondary and iron out some mechanical things this could be a nice strikeout arm at Samford.
