Richmond Braves Workout
Athletic defender behind the plate with nice hip mobility. Thought he showed really nice receiving skills and pitch presentation all over the zone. Scafidi also has the ability to shut down the running game with a solid arm behind the plate and accuracy around the bag. Has the athleticism to move from behind the plate to possibly a corner outfield spot, or first base.
Preseason All-State II
Scafidi is 5-11 with an athletic frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, low keg kick stride on line, loads back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Keeps hands inside short and quick to ball, slightly uphill line drive swing, very strong at contact with extension through the ball, exit velocity was 86. Behind the plate, shows some sway receiving, firm hands catching ball, quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters slot with a short arm action, velocity was 78 and pops were 1.97-2.07. Ran a 4.28 home to first
