Sebastien Dostal: 3B/RHP, (2024) Burr & Burton Academy, VT. 6-foot-2, 178-pound lean athletic frame. Athletic and projectable at the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 91 mph. (73.1 mph bat speed average). (23.7 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced open stance with a small load, then uses a closed controlled stride. Bat speed is developing, uses a flat loose swing plane and a front foot finish. Found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Projectable and athletic while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 78 mph; has a clean natural exchange, athletic developing feet, and developing hands. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.1 at the event. Capable on the mound, showed consistent arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. During his delivery, balance point is tall with in-line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 77-78 mph; has running action and control arm side around the zone. (Max spin 1978; Avg 1855). Showed glove side around the zone command and sweeping action on his curveball (65-66). (Max spin 1873; Avg 1873).
Physical: 6-foot-2, 178 pounds; Athletic, long build. 7.4 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Loads straight back with a toe-tap for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing a strong lower half. Showed a moderate swing path with a two handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman. fluid hands with feel for the barrel.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 79 MPH.
Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Short take back while showing no restrictions; high 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 80 MPH, while sitting 77-80 MPH; life through the zone flashing ride and run. CB: 69-70 MPH; 11-5 shape. SL: 72-73 MPH. CH: 73-75 MPH.
