Moser arguably put together one of the top ‘pens of the entire 240+ prospect event on Saturday. Listed at an imposing 6-foot-5, 230-pounds, Moser has seemed to clean up his mechanics since our last look at him in the summer. Now moving more fluidly downhill, Moser sat exclusively in the 88-89 mph range, with his top being 89.3 mph, which is a slight uptick since our previous look at him last year. One of Moser’s most impressive secondaries was a sinker that played heavy and averaged 15.9’ of horizontal movement, while spinning at an average of 2258 rpm. He also featured a sweeping slider in the high-70s that he showed feel for and a somewhat developing splitter that he effectively killed spin on.

Moser is another sophomore arm with an imposing stature at 6-foot-5 230-pounds. In his one inning of work, Moser ran his fastball up to 87 mph but sat in the lower 80’s throughout his outing, flashing both cutting action and sinking action as well. He also spun in a few breakers in the 2200-2300 rpm range, and was able to effectively kill spin on his changeup.
2/19/22
At 6-foot-5, 235-pounds he carries a hulking build that should only increase its intimidation factor as he matures and develops strength. Along with that should come added body control to help pound the zone with more regularity, but already sitting 85-86 mph, topping at 87 mph, his fastball qualities are advanced for his age. As he fills into his frame and develops more precise movement, Moser will be a projectable arm to follow out of Wisconsin’s sophomore class.
